After two stays in Nairobi I have to admit there is much I didn’t see. It’s a big bustling city that has a cosmopolitan feel.
There are beautiful green spaces throughout the city and some other easy walking places I craved.
I was always in a recovery mood rather than looking for action.

From Mombasa to Nairobi I took Kenyan Rail. I do love trains!
It was a six hour trip on a new and very comfortable car. I splurged on first class for Cdn$45.
Security was very stringent – pat down, sniffer dogs, two sets of x-ray machines.

It passed through Tsavo National Park, where I’ll be going as part of my safari. I saw a few elephants, and lots of their famous red earth.

Security is much tighter in Nairobi as well. Airport style x-ray and scanners for my hotel and the malls.

A trip to the old town.

Nation Centre

McMillan Memorial Library

Memorial for the native fighters of WW1.

Jamia Mosque

City Market

Time for a coffee. Nairobi has very trendy shops.

Why eat just ordinary animal crackers.

My walk from the hotel to the mall took me past the garden shops.

Before the safari I stayed in a suite for a few days. It was nice to have peanut butter and cute little banana toast.

After the safari I stayed more downtown with more malls.
I’ve had to buy a duffel bag to carry all the souvenirs I’ve bought to support the local economy!

It’s not all road side stands.

Fun kiosks in the hotel lobby.

So Nairobi is my final destination. I’ve caught up on sleep and my photos. And now I’m waiting to go to the airport to head back to Canada.
It’s been another amazing three months.
Thank you South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya❤️
