Seville, Spain and Canary Islands

I went to a Flamenco show last night, though I still want to find a local less-staged event.These tend to be spontaneous and very late night, so not sure on my luck there!

But it is a huge part of the Seville culture, and my landlord assured me it wasn’t all tourist-hoky stuff. I choose a smaller venue, which happened to be a lovely 15th courtyard just a few minutes from my place.

There are shops that sell the absolutely gorgeous dresses, shawls, and jewelry. That aside, there are lots of less ‘authentico’ flamenco souvenirs for those who want them…

Note: They didn’t allow us to take pictures during the show, but offered a few minute photo-op at the end. Curious if the video works – not sure if it is just slow wi-fi here that is the problem while trying it out in the blog.
